RGPD and your e-mail client

RGPD 2018, or European Data Protection Regulation, is mandatory for all companies engaging with
European citizens, under penalty of a fine of 4% of annual turnover. RGPD DEFINITION. 


Imagine for example that you have 20 employees and that all store in their e-mail client
(Outlook, Thunderbird or other), the contact information. If a contact asks for a copy of all the information you have about him, it means that on the basis of the RGPD, you must go around the e-mail clients of your 20 employees, in order to export the contact form from each e-mail client.


This is a real puzzle that makes compliance with the DSMP almost impossible.



It is therefore imperative that Simple CRM is your one and only storage space.

When you need a contact's e-mail, you will therefore only search for it in Simple CRM, 
via a search in the search engine.


It is, therefore, necessary to prevent the collection of email data by the email client.


RGPD : BLOCK THE COLLECTION OF EMAIL DATA ON THUNDERBIRD


Simply go to TOOLS and disable this feature:

Click on the File tab

Click on Options


Click on Contacts

Clear the Automatically create Outlook contacts for recipients not listed in an 
Outlook Address Book check box.

Click OK
